Hullo! Are you impressed by the story of Ripples Roping Memories? I wish you the best for the day.

Vacations are the times when Rani goes to aunt Ragini’s house. The bus travel from Vanavli to Chitragaon does not suit Rani. The burning petrol smell and vibration of the bus moving evokes nausea in her stomach. She prefers to take a train from Vanavli to Chiitragaon and back to Vanavli. Momentous occasions are when her cousins come to Vanavli to visit Bhima park. The whole family spends the day in the park till the evening. They take a stove with them to make tea and warm food. Visitors to Bhima park are few. It has the pristine look of a forest. Children play cricket, catching cook, rings and have a lot of fun. Maternal cousins, aunts and uncles enjoy the picnic as one family. Rajendra anna, Akhila, Karnesh and Vivek are all there for the picnic.

Rani’s brother Hari, bunks classes in school and watches movies. He finds a film projector, probably a discarded one with discarded film reels. At home, he builds a tent out of clothes and bedsheets. He makes Rani, brothers and sisters sit inside the tent he has fabricated. He operates the projector. Children are amused to see a part of what is in the film reel. They are excited, moved and thrilled by what Hari anna can do. What is surprising, is cinema is moving towards crime and violence. Plots present pictures of innocent heroes and heroines getting trapped in the crime world. Hari is on a look out for watching such films. He knows that the high school text books will fetch him a lot of money. He sells Rani’s school text books to Chitragaon book depot to watch the much awaited films. For stealing things from his home, he uses the same technique as used in the cinema. The influence of Cinema enters Rani’s life although the nuns of the convent prevent her from being influenced by it.

Hari steals an alarm clock from his home. He uses the balcony for the purpose. He ties a string to the clock and pulls the string from an outlet meant for water to pass. He climbs the window sill and fetches the clock. He does this at night when all are asleep. His friend Romesh is an accomplice. He flees to West India where his friend Romesh lives. Romesh’s mother is from Northeast India and father from West India. The family is in tension because Hari does not return home for many days. Father is busy with his office duties and mother busy with her household work. Rani is worried about her brother’s safety. A complaint is lodged with the Vanavli Police station. Police finds Romesh and Hari in West India. Mother requests the police to put Hari in prison and slap him so that he will not repeat such incidents again. Police plants slaps on Hari’s face. Tears well up in younger brother Mohan’s eyes. The police declares it as a juvenile case and hands Hari to mom and dad.
